Strengthening Our Commitment to GBV Prevention and Response Standards
At Ask Educator Organization (AEO), we are deeply dedicated to continuously enhancing our team’s capabilities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and protective environment for all. As part of this ongoing mission, we are pleased to have participated in a comprehensive professional training on the “Minimum Standards for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Emergencies.”
The training was organized by the Zhian Health Organization in partnership with UNFPA, and operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Kurdistan Regional Government (MOLSA-KRG).
Key Highlights and Takeaways:
- Survivor-Centered Approach: The sessions placed a core emphasis on prioritizing the rights, needs, and safety of survivors in every aspect of intervention.
- Ethical Standards: Deepened our understanding of strict confidentiality, safety, and respect within humanitarian and community service delivery.
- Coordination Strategies: Explored effective multi-sectoral coordination strategies to improve referral pathways and assistance.
Moving forward, AEO is fully committed to integrating these practical insights and international standards into our daily operations and community projects, ensuring high-quality, safe, and accessible support for women and girls affected by violence.
